Health Tip #3

Celery is your friend! A whole stalk of celery only has about 10 calories in all, but celery takes 15-20 calories to digest. Yeah, yeah. Celery isn't the greatest tasting thing in the world, but you  can add a couple things to jazz it up. One of first things you can do is add low fat natural peanut butter. WARNING: Do not smother celery with peanut butter, it defeats he purpose of eating healthy! A tablespoon of natural peanut butter has about 150 calories.
Another you can do is the basic; eat it with ranch! I strongly recommend making the ranch yourself using a ranch packet, such as the Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing and Salad Dressing. Making your own ranch can help you cut back on calories and fat. You can do so by using low fat/non-fat mayonnaise and milk. But keep in mind, the same rule applies with the ranch; do not coat celery in ranch.

Remember:  4-5 servings a day. A serving size is
  • ½ cup of fresh, frozen or canned vegetables
  • 1 cup of leafy greens (salad)
  • ½ cup of vegetable juice
